Can i give baby cereal to a one month old?

Can i give baby cereal to a one month old? She is one month tomarow abd drinks 7 oz every 3-4 hours!! I was told that I can give her 5 oz and a small spoon of gerber cereal!! Since the milk is not lasting and I'm low on bugget!!
