Is John Locke's "An Essay Concerning Human Understanding" fundamentally flawed?

People with opposing arguments tend to degrade their opponents, even if they don't have a solid case. I would have to say Woolhouse simply doesn't believe in the same ideas of Plato and must lie to feel better about himself.
